Music
Longtime member of Woodminster Summer Musicals theatre company in Oakland, California. The roots of my career as a performer were singing in a touring children's choir at age 7 and went on to sing solo and choral work in various churches for 15 yrs
Also played trombone in a jazz band as a kid.
Among the many I studied music with, my favorite, my uncle, Will Spencer, who performed with many of the Big- Band era greats and Pop icons of the 60's and 70's.
Movies
I've travelled all over the country in my career as an actor, from the Mojave Desert to the backwoods
of Minnesota. Similarly, I've played just about every type of character, from Serial Killer to School Teacher. And the best thing about having appeared in over 100 films now is that there's still so much to see and do.
Thanks to Gus Van Sant for casting me in 'Elephant' and
thanks to all the independent filmmakers around the country who continue to include me in their adventures.
My favorite period in Hollywood Films: The 60's & 70's
Favorite director: Sergio Leone.
Television
In the Hollywood part of my life, I've appeared in several Primetime Dramas along with several Cable Shows and Soap Operas. I've appeared on The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno and had particular fun working a Soap in New York and a TV Commercial for Maybelline there too.
On the side, I've appeared in countless TV commercials,
the most recent for 2007 Dodge Trucks.
Books
As a kid, my parents thought Drive-In Movies were the greatest thing. So did I. TV was worshipped too. Books have taken a back seat all my life and I regret not having a great taste for books. I did devour numerous books just before becoming a teenager about Native American life including CUSTER DIED FOR YOUR SINS and BURY MY HEART AT WOUNDED KNEE- this period started a lifelong feeling of brotherhood with the American Indian.
Heroes
My Mom and Dad
...And, for several years, I lived with my uncle who was blind. I spent countless hours assisting him and other blind folks I met through him. You and I can thank
the Great Spirit that we have the eyes to enjoy Myspace,
Movies, and the precious world we live in.
