My name is Larry West, and I am running for Mayor of Philadelphia. You may be asking yourself, what possessed a 22-year-old to run for Mayor of the 2nd Largest City on the East Coast? The times we live in in the City of Philadelphia is that of a culture or corruption, a rising crime and murder rate, and the prospect of candidates that don't promise change, just more of the same!
I've lived in Philadelphia my entire life, and I've had countless friends and enemies. I've seen first-hand how crime effects the health and well-being of people, the pain of losing your own mother, and the anger in not being able to do anything when you see something or someone suffering. Citizens live on the outside of politics, and it has been a game of the rich.
I'm running to give CITIZENS control over their POLITIANS, not the other way around! The right to recall, the right to safety, and the right to prosperity! THESE are the basic rights of any free and just people!
To quote Devin Townsend: "I am the coming of a new age, stained, we still stand tall! I am the coming of a new age, and I will never fall! I bear the questions of a new time, seen but never heard. I've seen the comings of a new time! Philadelphia, get ready, for here it comes!"

Anyone who wants CHANGE. I am going to offer effective leadership and do everything possible to make Philadelphia better!
No one else is trying to enact programs for the homeless, come up with realistic solutions to the drug problem, let alone try to give the citizens the tools needed to effectively have a say in their political system. I plan on doing all of this, and no one else is willing to even acknowledge any of that as problems, even though everyone in Philadelphia knows they are!
To anyone who wants Philadelphia to succeed and move on to this great new Golden Age, I would love to meet you!

It takes guts to buck the system - I hope we'll see more of you as time goes on. Kids can drive at 16, vote at 18, drink and 21, and can GO TO WAR at 17 -- damn straight they should be allowed to hold office too!!
