Everything I've ever heard has influenced me to some extent. Some of my favorites include (but are not limited to): Brad Mehldau, Jason Moran, Messiaen, Ravi Shankar, Keith Jarrett, Oscar the Grouch, Ahmad Jamal, Chucho Valdes, Quentin Tarentino, Dave Douglas, the letter "Q," and my dead hamster: Rufus.

In my opinion, music falls into two categories: sounds good, or sounds bad. Beyond that, I prefer not to categorize it. My tunes blend elements of jazz, classical, rock, funk, and gospel, creating something different. I suppose the answer might be to call it unique.
Since beginning piano at the age of five, Lars pursued his musical interests down the paths of classical, jazz, rock, and funk, eventually landing him at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After earning his degree, Lars headed to the Big Apple, where he now resides with his wife. Lars keeps busy playing with the talented singer-songwriter Jann Klose, funk legend Milo Z, and leading his own jazz ensemble, the Lars Potteiger Trio.
This track is the last chapter of a trilogy called Threnody. Part one you may have heard: Concrete Waterfall. Part two is called Culling Song, and the track is finished, but I since I've uploaded the max number of tracks, I didn't post it. However, you will soon be able to hear the whole thing on my new web page to be up sometime in the next month I hope.
