After reuniting for a few incredible shows in late 2002, the band decided to focus on writing and recording new material. The band has written eleven new songs and recorded a four song demo. A live CD of the reunion shows in 2002 called "Burning Funkhouse Live" (available at lastcrack.com) has been released and work on a full-length studio CD has been started. In 2006, Last Crack's classic CDs Burning Time and Sinister Funkhouse 17 were remastered and reissued on limited edition gold CDs with bonus tracks. They are available at Amazon and Ebay.

I was recently transferring all my old Headbangers Ball tapes to DVD when I came across the Energy Mind video. Man that brought me back. I remember when I first saw it back in the day and thought, "Fk'n yeah! Now this is where metal should be headed." With all the crappy clone bands that were popping up during that time, hitting the same old worn out riffs, Last Crack had a unique musical sensibility that, refreshingly, wasn't tied to anger and mayhem. I fully expected everyone to have your CD within the week. But you were overlooked... at least on the national scene.
Not gushing or kissing up, but you guys managed to kick ass AND write great songs. It's usually one or the other. But you didn't have the pissed off vibe that so many bands were copping. You were like a 90s metal band with a healthy dose of prog and a quasi Doors/Lou Reed poetic sensibility lurking beneath all the power chords. (Fk. Now I sound like a damn critic. blek)
Anyway, thought I'd see if you guys were on Myspace and here you are. So glad you are still around! "Burning Time" was an overlooked classic. I start each day with "Energy Mind". It saves me money on coffee. ;-)

wooohooo !! Damn i just heard your music last year after i read a review of your 2 first releases that were reissued. First bought, Sinister Funkhouse but i didn't hear it until i bought Burning Time and i was stuck!4 months this was playing constantly on my cd player while at the meantime i loved the songs on Sinister Funkhouse! Thee Abyss is my favorite from this record.
Anyway when i read you're about to release a new record today morning i was very excited!
