Sounds Like
The best way to describe it is for you to come out and hear it for yourself and make your own assumption. Lyrically, the songs deal with searching together, humynity as a whole, for a better way of life for all earthlings and the earth, itself. The message is pissed, yet hopeful, in that we can liberate ourselves and learn to love and help one another, without dependency on machines, government or exploitation.
Along time ago in a galaxy far away (October '04) Andy, Craig, and Jeff started crankin out hardcore/thrash tunes with serious messages along with goofy songs about throwin pizza at cars while broken down on the side of the highway. The DIY ethic was also very prevelant. Ian Gordon filled in on bass for a bit playing a few shows with us and recording our first demo (thanx dude). Then a good friend of the band (Joe Marks), who ironically was at the recording sesh for the demo, came into the picture playin bass. Justin Fuhrman also filled in on bass for the show that LS did with MDC (hardcore legends!). Shortly thereafter, Joe moved to 2nd guitar because he's fuckin amazing, meanwhile Zac Brady entered the group playing bass. Shows at the Stahl (Jeff's house) were a monthly event, with LS on every show. A new demo was cut, and a legit release was in the near future.
July of '06 came around and it was a hard time for the Last Sunset to say the least. With the band basically living together, practicing twice a week religiously for two years straight, and going through 3 different vans as well as acquiring a trailer for the equipment, the band decided to call it quits after a short tour in late July of '06. New projects ensued after the bands breakup such as Threats of Life and Growing Pains.
The present brings forth a new life to the band. A reunion show was mentioned, but now a full blown revitalization of the band is in the works with TJ the shredder on bass. You say why TJ? Well...we'll tell you why TJ. TJ is a close friend of all of ours, and it just so happens that he came to damn near all the LS shows as well as shredding stringed instruments like the spaceboy that he is (hence the name TJ the shredder).
In conclusion to this ridiculous incomprehendable rambling, Last Sunset is back and you should go to their shows because it is a proven fact that up up down down left right left right B A B A select start will always get you 30 lives in Contra!
