   About Las Vandelays

MySpace Layouts

Las Vandelays© was formed in the year 2000 in the hamlet of Hoboken, NJ. The nucleus of the group was created a year earlier when Stacy and David met at an Open-Mike night at the Liquid Lounge. After they opened Mike, they neatly sewed him up again and The Vandelays were formed. Nowadays, Las Vandelays performs as a duet, a trio, or a quartet, depending on the venue. Tom joins them on percussion, and Elizabeth kindly lends her talent as a bassist/singer with the band. Their repertoire includes originals, bossa nova, samba, rhumba, reggae, cha-cha, Beatles, Edith Piaf, Everly Brothers, Antonio Carlos Jobim and an occasional Nancy Sinatra cover. They are available, I'm told, for shows, parties, bar-mitzvahs and weddings.

The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill. What more can I say, a great night for music and film, with the odd star thrown in. Come show your support.

For those with feet and wheels, Lamp Post is a few blocks west of the Path's Grove Street Stop (make a left onto Newark St. stay on the left and it'll take you into 2nd- about 2 Manhattan avenue blocks length) and if you're driving there's plenty of street parking.

Disclaimer: I know everyone has agendas, clicks, TV and whatever but we're providing a night of fun, free, live/original music- for those who do not come to the show we can not be held responsible if your Saturday night is lame.

IT WAS REALLY SUPERV SEEING YOU GUYS IN CONCERT AT STEVENS COLLEGE IN HOBOKEN !
IM AN ARTIST POET ! WHEN CAN I DO AN ALBUM COVER FOR YOU GUYS ?, OR MAYBE YOU CAN USE ONE OF MY POEMS SET TO MUSIC ?!
LOVE TO COLLABORATE ! YOUR MUSIC IS REFRESING AND AS INTRICATELY MELODIC AS A MUSICAL WATERFALL OR CASCADE ! GREAT STUFF !

" LINE OF REASONING " above art by ( M.A.) SAINT ( C.) 2008.

" LINE OF REASONING "

PRECIOUS LIKE SPRING
OR A DIVA
AS SHE STARTS TO SING
OR A BEE
AND THE HONEY
IT DOES BRING
LINE OF REASONING
DIRECTFUL CLAMORING
AS FETAL HARBORING
OR MOBILE SURFING
YET ALWAYS DELIVERING
THIS THOUGHT
THAT BRILLIANT FUTURES BOUGHT
AS LINEAR DREAMS
THAT TURNED INTO SCREAMS
NOW PROSPERITY
IS BURSTING AT THE SEAMS
POEM -LINE OF REASONING , BY ( M.A.) SAINT ( C.) 2008.

" INSPIRING " !!!
