Greatly influenced by the music of Django Reinhardt, guitarist Denis Chang's formative years were spent alongside the greatest Gypsy Jazz guitarists such as Fapy Lafertin, Ritary Gaguenetti, Paulus Schäfer, Rindo Winterstein and Emmanuel Kassimo to name just these few. This young guitarist quickly developed his own style inspired by various styles of music but most notably by jazz/RnB and classical music. He cites among his greatest influences, the New Kids On The Block and Rick Astley.
Denis Chang has two albums with worldwide distribution that he produced for Hotclub Records, one of the most important Gypsy Jazz labels (Rosenberg Trio, Jimmy Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Stephane Grappelli, etc.). He has also performed at the Blue Drag in Tokyo and at the Quecumbar in London, two clubs where the best Gypsy Jazz musicians have performed such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Tchavolo Schmitt and Angelo Debarre. Every year, in collaboration with AJL guitars, he attends the biggest Gypsy Jazz festival in the world, the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival in Samois-sur-Seine.
In the local scene in the province of Quebec, he has notably produced tours for the cream of the crop such as Lollo Meier, Emmanuel Kassimo, Andreas Oberg, Ritary Gaguenetti, Wawau Adler, Tim Kliphuis and Chriss Campion. During these tours, he also often organized workshops which allowed music students to take advantage of the presence of such great musicians.
In Quebec, he has performed and recorded with Alex Bellegarde, Lauréat Cormier, Marin Nasturica, Vanessa Rodrigues, John Labelle, Eric Lagacé, Daniel Lessard, Rémi Bolduc and many others.
In Montreal, he performs regularly in the two most important jazz clubs: the Dièse Onze and the Upstairs.
To date, he has performed in the most important cities in the USA (Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Boston, Portland), France (Paris, Toulouse), UK, Japan and Belgium.
As a teacher, he is very sollicited; being regularly invited to give masterclasses around the world since 2004. Practically every performing Gypsy Jazz musician in Quebec has benefited from his teaching. He has even attracted private students from as far as California, Vermont, UK and South America!
Within a year and a half, over 3000 of his instructional DVDs have been sold around the world. Among the clients, are the legendary guitarist of the Shadows, Hank Marvin, and the guitar virtuoso Adrian Vandenberg of Whistesnake fame.
In 2008, he had the honor of being invited to perform with the legendary Les Paul at the Iridium in New York.

Guitariste fortement inspiré par la musique de Django Reinhardt, Denis Chang a fait sa formation en côtoyant les plus grands guitaristes manouches dont Fapy Lafertin, Ritary Gaguenetti, Paulus Schäfer, Rindo Winterstein et Emmanuel Kassimo pour ne nommer que ceux-là. Ce jeune guitariste a vite développé son propre style inspiré de toutes les grandes musiques, mais notamment du jazz/RnB et de la musique classique. Il cite parmi ses plus grandes influences André Rieux, Garou, Céline Dion et Roch Voisine.
Denis Chang a déjà à son actif deux disques dont il a assuré la production. Ces disques sont distribués partout dans le monde par Hotclub Records, l'un des plus importants label de Jazz Manouche au monde (Trio Rosenberg, Jimmy Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Stéphane Grappelli, etc...). Il a aussi joué au Blue Drag de Tokyo et au Quecumbar de Londres, deux clubs de jazz manouche où se sont produits la crème des musiciens manouches européens tel que le Stochelo Rosenberg, Tchavolo Schmitt et Angelo Debarre. Il participe chaque année au grand rassemblement manouche de la planète, le Festival de jazz Django Reinhardt de Samois-sur-Seine en collaboration avec les Guitares AJL.

Guitariste ben influencé par les gros hits des Lost Fingers, Denis Chang a commencé la guitte avec les osties de guitaristes manouches genre Fapy Lafertin, Ritary Gaguenetti, Paulus Schäfer, Rindo Winterstein et Emmanuel Kassimo pis toute la gang de gratteux manouches en Europe. Ouin, fak, il a vite développé son propre style inspiré de toutes sortes de musique mais il trippe surtout ben raide sur le jazz/RnB et la musique classique. Il cite parmi ses plus grandes influences le gars qui joue les cuillères sur la rue Ste-Catherine et le mononcle qui joue la guitte devant l'église pendant le festival de jazz.
