Atheism is a requirement for a complete human being. Religion is a shackling crutch you never needed in the first place, but were convinced by others that you couldn't live without. Once you discover it's only an illusion, you discard it gladly.

Music
I couldn't survive without music or film.
Music is wondrous and I don't think people should limit themselves to just one genre, but I will admit that i detest most rap and hip-hop.
I relish music that's eerie/creepy, other-worldly or epic sounding; I love classical music- Beethoven and Bach in particular.
I love rock, [old and new] I love folk, and I love opera, choruses and/or orchestra- combine them with rock, and the result is total bliss.
I'm a dork, so I love oldies, and since I'm a dancer I savor anything I can dance to.
Strings- cellos and violins- are my favorite instruments, so Apocalyptica rocks my world. I get really irked when people say they don't like a song or music because "it doesn't have any words." This is extremely narrow-minded to me. I think music is far more powerful and can tell a story way better than lyrics can. [Even though I do appreciate powerful lyrics, don't get me wrong] but I listen to a lot of scores from soundtracks for this reason.
Bands I like: Alexisonfire, A Perfect Circle, Alice In Chains, Alterbridge, Apocalyptica, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Chevelle, Coldplay, Daughtry, Disturbed, Evanescence, Foo Fighters, The Hoosiers, Incubus, Jet, Korn, Lacuna Coil, Linkin'Park, Metallica, Muse, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Gorillaz, Panic! at the Disco, Papa Roach, Pet Shop Boys, Pink Floyd, Queen, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Deadman, Tears for Fears, Shinedown, Slipknot, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Taproot, Tool, Rise Against.
Artists I like: Justin Nozuka, Jonny Lang, John Mayer, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Frank Sinatra, Micheal Buble, George Micheal and Nat King Cole.
Favorite Directors:
Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, James Cameron, Richard Kelly, & Danny Boyle.
Favorite Composers:
Clint Mansell, Alan Menken, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, Jerry Goldsmith, Alan Silvestri, Nick Cave &
Warren Ellis, Asche & Spencer.
Movies
The Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge,
American Psycho, Requiem for a Dream, Sunshine, The Fountain, A Beautiful Mind, American History X, The Boondock Saints, Fight Club, Se7en, Donnie Darko [Director's Cut], The Butterfly Effect, Kevin Smith's Dogma, Pan's Labyrinth, Cloverfield, Pay It Forward, Across the Universe, Sweeney Todd [The Demon Barber of Fleet Street], The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford, The Shawshank Redemption, Kill Bill, Sin City, Shoot'em Up, Death Proof/Planet Terror, Equilibrium, 12 Monkeys, Event Horizon and In the Mouth of Madness, Saw, Gattaca, Interview With the Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Thank You For Smoking, Burn After Reading, Almost Famous, The Island, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige and Memento, Alien, Predator, Total Recall, Terminator, Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Blood Diamond, 300, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven [Director's Cut], Saving Private Ryan, National Treasure, Firewall, Untraceable, Troy, V for Vendetta, Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Van Helsing, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Center Stage and Take the Lead [Both very lame movies, but with incredible dance scenes], The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Neverending Story, Kickboxer, the Back to the Future Trilogy, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, all the Harry Potter movies, Madagascar 1&2, Ice Age, The Chipmunk Adventure, Hercules, The Emperor's New Groove, The Incredibles, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Hunchback of Notre Dame- and pretty much every other Disney movie ever made, because they're classics.
AMERICAN PSYCHO:
A True Masterpiece.
WARNING:
DO NOT WATCH IF YOU CAN'T HAVE A DARK SENSE OF HUMOR, OR ARE GOING TO JUDGE THE BOOK AND/OR MOVIE WITHOUT STUDYING UP ON THE DISTURBING BUT VERY INELLIGENT AND TRUTHFUL POINT THE AUTHOR WAS TRYING TO MAKE ABOUT THE SHALLOWNESS AND MATERIALISM OF SOCIETY IN THE 80s AND TODAY.
Television
INUYASHA
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST
DEATH NOTE
I like cartoons, and Adult Swim/Japanese Animation in particular. I watch a lot of InuYasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Death Note, the Boondocks and Futurama.
I want to say *YAY* to the cartoons I watched growing up and would STILL watch if they were on- Batman, Scooby-Doo, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, and Gargoyles-
*YAY* to new cartoons like Invader Zim and to all Disney channel shows like That's So Raven, the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Nick shows like Drake & Josh! (I'm a big dork, I know...)
I also like Law and Order SVU, the original CSI, and Dancing With the Stars.
Books
AMERICAN PSYCHO is a Masterpiece.
Yes, it is disturbing and graphic, but Bret Ellis (who in my opinion is a genius) makes such a powerful point (in an original and very creative way) about how empty and insipid our society is.
Anyway, let's carry on and look into my favorite character:
Patrick Bateman (AKA our American Psycho).
Patrick was and still is my favorite character because I've always been fascinated by the insane. I don't think it's morbid or "weird" of me, I'm just fascinated with psychology/the human mind in general.
Reading a novel/watching a movie (like American Psycho) that is narrated by a sociopath serial killer is immensely interesting. I love it when events are explained the way HE sees them...from his deranged perspective.
Anyone who appreciates dark humor or who is intrigued by unstable minds will like this book (and the movie)!
OTHER BOOKS I LIKE:
God is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything [by Christopher Hitchens,] Everything by Victoria Holt, Jude Deveraux ( The Velvet Promise was my favorite), and Louisa May Alcott ( A Long Fatal Love Chase was her best.)
Most of my favorite books are ones I read when I was a child or in high school- like Where the Red Fern Grows, Sign of the Beaver, Lord of the Flies, 1984, Animal Farm, and The Giver.
I like anything by Ann Rice (if it has vampires or demons, I'll probably like it) and everything by Shakespeare or Edgar Allan Poe.
Heroes
My Father- Steven L. Hammen- is and always will be my greatest hero.
Next is Batman (the best superhero ever!), InuYasha, and Christian Bale.
BATMAN is, has always been, and always will be the BEST, MOST BAD-ASS SUPERHERO! Thank you Christian Bale for being the only actor to do Batman and Bruce Wayne justice, and thank you Christopher Nolan for following the comic books and making Batman the way it should have been made all along!

(and it is SOOOOOO true, isn't it?!)
*Yummy*
Thank you Kristen- once again- for an awesome video!
Gemini, the sign of the Twins, is dual-natured, elusive, complex and contradictory.
The driving force behind a Gemini's conversation is their mind. Most Gemini have a
keen, intuitive, sometimes brilliant intelligence and they love celebral challenges.
Their mental agility and energy give them a voracious appetite for knowledge from
youth onward, and they easily grasp almost everything requiring intelligence and
mental dexterity. Further, the Twins are adaptable and dexterous and can tackle many
things at once, and it's a good thing too, when you consider their myriad interests.
Gemini intellect is strongly analytical and sometimes gives them so great an ability
to see both sides of a question that they vacillate and find it difficult to make
decisions. But even though their intellectual minds can rationalize forever and a day,
Geminis also have a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped. Geminis are both curious
and clever, and although they talk a great game, they also love to listen and learn.
Can a Gemini be dull? Never! Since Geminis are a mix of the yin and the yang, they are
represented perfectly by the Twins. The Gemini-born can easily see both sides of an issue,
a wonderfully practical quality. Less practical is the fact that you're not sure which
Twin will show up half the time. Geminis may not know who's showing up either, which can
prompt others to consider them fickle and restless. With any kind of luck, the Twins will
find themselves in interesting company, because if they don't, they are likely to get bored
and start fidgeting. Any social setting is a good one for a Gemini, however, since these
folks are charming, congenial and love to share themselves with their friends. While their
effusiveness may be misconstrued as scheming by some, Geminis generally have their hearts
in the right place. It's that ample energy which can also paint them as scatterbrained
and unfocused, but behind all that zipping around, the Twins are busily filing all that
good data away. The Element associated with Gemini is Air. Air Signs are the thinking
person's Signs, and the Twins don't disappoint. Those born under this Sign prize intellect
and consider it the key to all things. At work, they are the clearest of thinkers, looking
at a project from all (well, at least two) sides and putting forth some logical and
well-thought-out ideas. This quality makes Geminis an asset to any team, and while these
folks are not inclined to take the lead, they are a most valuable component.
It's also the Gemini's literary bent which allows them to offer a useful perspective on most
any situation. The Twins also enjoy bringing their objective reasoning and big-picture ability
into their personal relationships. While some may perceive all this logical thought as cold
and unemotional, it's simply how these folks tick. They want to connect, they just do it their
own way. Luckily for Geminis (and their pals), lightness of spirit and youthful exuberance help
them to appear forever young. In keeping with that skip in their step, Geminis enjoy short
road trips--and their agile minds and nimble hands ensure that they could change a tire
(if needed) in no time flat. Is all of this Twin-energy more than any one person can handle?
Ah, maybe that's why they are two!
I LOVE JAPANESE ANIMATION! This video contains scenes from FINAL FANTASY ADVENT CHILDREN, and Evanescence's Sweet Sacrifice. A totally PERFECT combination!
Sweet Sacrifice Add to My Profile |
If you already know me or ever meet me, you should know that-
1. I love to dance.
2. I am infatuated with Vampires.
They are so erotic and magnetic, and I love their quiet confidence- what I like to call a "silent ego"- they never boast because they don't need to; their confidence and power just exudes from them and it is SO irresistable.
HOWEVER- I'm not crazy, I don't drink blood or try to fly or anything- it's just one of my fantasies...One of several...*Heh, heh*
This is a video by the ~Fabulous Kristen Harris~
It's scenes from Queen of the Damned along with Marilyn Manson's Tainted Love.
Who I'd like to meet: Dead?...Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein. Especially Tesla, because few people in his time recognized the significance or magnitude of his work, and I think he deserves to know how much his work is used and appreciated today. Plus, [from what I've read] he seemed like a cool guy.
Alive...I would feel honored to meet my two favorite directors, Christopher Nolan [Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Memento] and David Fincher [Fight Club, Se7en.] I can't forget Clint Mansell, because he wrote the scores for Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain, two of my favorite soundtracks. Alan Menken and Danny Elfman also unquestionably deserve to be on this list. Last but not least: Christian Bale, Kevin Spacey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Justin Nozuka, Ellen Page, Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Salma Hayek, Jeff Dunham, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Eddie Izzard, and Haley Joel Osment.
I want to thank my amazingly talented friend Kristen for making this video-
it's for all Christian Bale fans who agree that if he wasn't already doing Batman Begins he would have been an equally flawless James Bond-
But Kirsten and I are definitely happy that he chose to be the Dark Knight!
