Bio:
Latinismo, Jackson Mississippi’s Premiere Latin band plays all genres of Tropical Latin music and “Latinizes” any type of today’s popular American music. An original sound is achieved with talented energetic musicians who combine traditional Latin music with innovative ideas.
At the nucleus of this tropical sound is the passion for Latin music. The group is seasoned with multiple percussionists, keyboards, guitar, bass, and an all star brass section.
The atmosphere Latinísmo creates draws dancers and even the rhythmically challenged to the dance floor.
About the Band:
Latinísmo is the inspiration of its leader drummer/percussionist Cucho González, a native of Puerto Rico and who has been an integral part of the MS music scene since moving 10 yrs ago. Cucho has performed with numerous well known bands in the area since then as an on demand percussionist and drummer. Deciding to go back to the roots and spice up the music scene a bit more, Cucho has compiled an extremely talented group of musicians that comprise Latinísmo.
The band consists of a multiple percussion section that generates that hot Latin sound and of course, no Latin band can be without a solid horn section to give it an authentic Latin big band sound.
The band’s member roster is comprised by from members from Puerto Rico, Honduras, Bolivia, Louisiana, and of course, Jackson, MS where the band is based at. The band has performed within the local area and it is available for bookings, for concerts, private functions and weddings.
“I have always wanted to bring the beauty and flavor of our music as a present not only to the Latin community that miss the sounds of home but to our Southern brothers and sisters that gave us the famous Southern Hospitality and through the blessing and the gift that God has given the band I hope to achieve this.
