This is an event that Brandon Badillo created 2 years ago as a way to raise funds for his ailing Grandfather. This is an annual event which will keep growing and growing each year. Hurricane Ike spoiled our fun last year so we decided to push it up a little and have a full day event that welcomes all ages. Carrying on the tradition of giving back to the community, a portion of Xemumba's proceeds will benefit Lupe Arte and National Hispanic Institute.
Performers for Xemumba 09 include: Azul, Os Alquimistas, Seu Jacinto, La Guerrilla, Este Vato, El Tule, Krudas, Ritmo 3, Gabriel Santiago Quintet, Buscando El Monte, and Proyecto Saoko.

(Austin, TX) - The Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) will be hosting the 2nd annual Sor Juana Festival, an event that pays tribute to Mexican Women. This cultural celebration will be held in the MACC’s auditorium and main art gallery. The festival will begin on Friday, April 17th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm and will continue the next day, Saturday, April 18th from 3:00pm - 9:00pm.
