About me: The Latino Poet's Society Spoken Word Tour was created to showcase Latino talent within the spoken word realm.
Since the early 70's, Puerto Ricans have been blazing trails & making names for themselves within the poetry world.
From such noted poets as Miguel Pinero, Pedro Pietri, Jesus "Papoleto" Melendez, Frank Perez & Tato Laviera, all of Nuyorican Poet's Cafe fame, to present day Puerto Rican poets like La Bruja & Bobby "El Bronx Taino" Gonzalez, Latino scribes continue to emerge, expand and enlighten.
Throughout NYC's underground poetry cafes and once a month open mikes, a large Latino audience has developed consisting of a faithful & captive following.
This November 10th & 12th 2008, The Latino Poet's Society will hold the 1st chapter of a national spoken word tour consisting of a buffet of top notch talent for your mind to savor.
Held in the beautiful Cherry Lane Theater in Greenwich Village with technical, musical & lighting direction by Pope Jackson, The Latino Poet's Society promises an entertaining, intellectual experience not to be forgotten.
Currently in talks with network TV and plans to tour the country, LPS stands to be a premiere force within this exciting genre.

2001 to 2008 so many tears have fallen just as the heroes that always came calling and we still have a place for them in graved on a wall but our hearts will keep them alive even more.
Many fell from the tragic spell that was cast on us all that September morning but only a few were chosen to rise again with their souls and only god knows of the reason to pick the ones that were so brave and bold.
But we shall over come as the days come by many just as we look to the sky to look for the memories as we use our paths to move forward and we will always share our emotions no matter our race because god will welcome all of us when enter those heavenly gates.
