Sounds Like
a plethora of piñatas rustling in the wind...maybe not.
the story goes Back to 1992... A group of childhood friends decided to make music together. Thus began the journey. Learning and performing Chicano music for many years all over the southwest, the band won audiences over with enegetic performances, and musical prowess. As each individual member grew musically, so too did their need to explore other styles, and genres. R&B, Disco, Jazz, Big Band,Rock en espanol, Funk, Soul, Tejano, Salsa, Latin Jazz...and in the same manner that they began their journey, they would learn, and assimilate all these styles together...as a unit. The band's side projects (Manteca, to intellectually challenge, and The Funkyard Gang...to blow off steam),left LS wanting more...more knowlege, more ability. By 2000, Latino Solido was a full blown salsa band. It wasnt just a bunch of guys jamnin latin grooves...
Learning and feeling this wonderful music helped elevate musical standards in the band... A band that, at times... is a living breathing entity. The band found itself delving into the music of Guaco de Venezuela, also Irakere, Los Van Van and other contemporary Cuban artists...
----------------------------------------------------Having recently aquired some of Nogales Az' best young musicians, the band has managed to shift gears into the world of progressive Cuban music, all the while maintaining the energy and proficiency that has had the band performing all over the southwest. LATINO SOLIDO's main goal has always been to musically grow. To not only serve ourselves, but to share what we have experienced with our audience. On any given night, you might hear the band play music from Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and of course...Cuba. Not to mention the ability to play music in just about any American style. The question has been asked countless times..." When is the CD coming out?" Well people...the songs are being written as we speak, and we think you will be pleasantly suprised...
