As the blues had a baby and they called it rock and roll, likewise, Latin Rock was born of the incendiary passionate rhythms of Mother Africa via the Caribbean, Central and South America, combined with the youthful energy of
Classic Rock and American R & B.
Though legendary groups such as El Chicano, Santana, and Malo immediately
come to mind, the roots of these significant and influential artists
actually go much deeper and the roster is far more extensive.
Welcome to the Latin Rock Café as we recognize, pay tribute to, and more
importantly, celebrate the innovations and creations of these artists and
the joy of another American art form as it continues to thrive in the pantheon of world music.
