LS, formed in the Caribbean city of Barranquilla-Colombia is a latin jazz Band.
They are creating a new atmosphere, energy, creative, explosiv music combining Colombian Folklore, jazz influences. The new album "Secrets" released in Nov. 2006 in Germany by "allá"(www.musicadealla.com), containes 10 instrumental pieces, with the great sax player Leandro St. Hill from Cuba as guest.
The Power of the rhythm, with conversations between Percussion-Drums and the texture of the Europe-Harmonie are creating a new atmosphere in the Jazz-world. Improvisations w/ Soul and Hearth, making the universal music alive. The guitars Melody in a new acoustic concept; LS prepared the new Album with more acoustics sounds and more free parts.
LS grew up together, and as children have worked on the develop of an original music; getting the opportunity to be in renowns Festivals, all around EUROPE and South America. LS, is ready to the next big step.

The 31th edition of Jazz Hoeilaart: Join the Contest!

If you are an ambitious jazzgroup with young musicians you can inscribe for the Jazz Hoeilaart Contest 2009 until the 15th of may. The festival, which is organised by Muziekmozaïek in collaboration with vzw De Rand, will take place from the 24th until the 26th of September and is intended for young international Jazz talent.
The 30-years old festival has its reputation for bringing international talent into the spotlights. Many known artists, such as Rosario Guiliani, Michiel Borstlap, Magnus Lindgren, Alexi Tuomarila and Robin Verheyen were on stage at this international contest.
The 31st edition of the contest will open on Thursday the 24th of September 2009. Until the 26th of September six finalists will perform in a contest-formula. Each evening will close with performances of Jack Van Poll/ Jef Neve/ Bart Van Caeneghem/ Ewout Pierreux (24/09), Hijaz (25/09), en Cintia Rodriguez (26/09). Ambitious young musicians can inscribe for the contest-section until the 15th of May 2009.
