  • Bio

LaughingSkull started playing violin at 7 to annoy his parents who wanted him to play piano. After a year he switched to classical guitar, but quickly become frustrated because the knowledge of Bach did not allow him to play rock. After an unsuccessful attempt to become a self taught rock player, he put a guitar on a shelf and leave her be. Twenty years later we find him as bitter and disillusioned scientist, on the verge of middle age, stricken with Lyme disease. Guitar comes back from the shelf again. Determined to learn to improvise, he started from scratch again. Thus in 2005 project LaughingSkull is born, meant to be nothing more than a passionate past time. Compositions matured in time and his signature fusion of goth/doom metal and progressive rock/fusion emerged from improvisation sessions with computer. First songs were put on the web to be reviewed by peers. Surprised by the positive reviews, he increased his involvement into composition and playing and was soon after rewarded by a letter from independent label. In 2009 he signed to AMAdea records and his debut 'Labyrinths Of The Soul' was released early in 2010.

About LS

Bio:

**************************************************************
When the eigth day god created rock, LaughingSkull was the furthest from its mind. At the age of seven he (LS) was put in music school to learn piano, but was feeling rebellious already and demanded to study violin. It was just for being spiteful to his parents, so this affair proved to be horrible for all parties, and finally his teacher refused to go on. The parents were adamant that he needed musical education, so finally he was forced to choose another instrument and began to study classical guitar. At the time he discovered bands like Pink Floyd, Queen and Deep Purple but the knowledge obtained at music school was unsuitable for playing rock. Thus he became increasingly frustrated by learning music in which he has no interest, and being unable to play music he liked. After finishing the basic music course, he quit classical and bought electric guitar. Being too lazy and not persistent enough, he finally decided that he is not prepared to invest the time again to learn to play rock. And quit, again.

Twenty years later we find him as bitter and disillusioned scientist, on the verge of middle age, stricken with neuroborreliosis.
