Mini Biography
Kass McPherson was born a poor black child, no seriously, she was born Cassandra McPherson on March 31, 1971 to a single hippie mother. Like all children, Kass was surrounded by love and support, no sorry, I mean drugs and crime. Kass used comedy to escape to normality. Despite her surroundings while growing up, Kass excelled in school and was always the top in her class but her brilliance caused her to become bored with her classroom environment and she became the class clown to get the attention she didn’t get elsewhere. So, to no one’s surprise, during Summer Band camp, oh wait that was another story, during Summer camp just after 6th grade Kass decided that she wanted to become a comedian. For the next 20+ years, Kass spent her time gaining life experiences for her comedy skits such as her research on Hookers and Blow, how to survive a bar fight, becoming a connoisseur of female breasts and learning to articulate such phrases as Touch it once baby, Can you take me, Fuck just Google it, I’m not that parent and the ever popular, Hey I don’t commit felonies for free. Her comedy career debuted in the Summer of 2001 showcasing at the Tempe Improv where she received a standing ovation. Within a year, she was voted Funniest Female in the Valley. She has been wowing audiences ever since.
Kass McPherson has a new “in your face” style of comedy that catches your attention and keeps you laughing. She discusses issues other comedians only dare tell their therapist and quite frankly that’s because she can’t afford one.
She has performed at the TEMPE IMPROV, The Biz, The Comedy Spot, toured with Rodney Hood, opened for ALEX REYMUNDO, and competed for a spot in Last Comic Standing. She has produced shows in and around Arizona, including the Dyke Cuts Tour and winner of Comedy Slamfest. Kass also performs regularly at Trash City’s comedy events in Phoenix and is a regular on Phoenix Radio station 106.7 KWSS on the “Best Local Comedy Show in the Valley”. Her latest DVD has been hailed as fresh, new, and more butch than Larry the Cable Guy and less bitchy than Roseanne Barr.
