LaunchPad is Eugene's Glam-Spy-SciFi band. Members are lelulaserlight, Mr. Random, and Orbital ("SuperNova") Disco Dave. Formed in September of 2004, LaunchPad does not stick to a formula; neither do they reject formulaic elements within their overall approach to performing. LaunchPad says, "We play the music of the future: therefore we make no plans." This is electronic-noise-dance-rock like you've never heard before! LaunchPad dresses up and celebrates sexiness & vividness for your eyes as well as for your ears. You'll hear scrumptious and challenging music generated by such diverse objects as flute, violin, electric guitar, bass guitar, shakers and rattlers, human and alien voices, electronic keyboards, drum machines, samplers, and effects processors: all played with focus and love. LaunchPad enjoys bringing toys and art-objects to their shows, all in the spirit of beauty, randomness, and magick.

Yes ladies and gentleman of earth- Launchpad will be performing again somewhere in the ascension quadrant wearing their infamous lazer cloaking devices so as not to be seen -This is needed due to the infrared delta gamma rays being transmitted from the nibiran sector!!! If you are unable to comprehend the magnitude of this, fear not--- we will be materializing on earth sometime in the near future!!! signing out for now ORBITALDISCODAVE
It appears to me your cover story fails to mention that LaunchPad is a band that landed in your town to enlighten you earth people with our hypnotic tripped out amazingly sincere deliciousness of sight and sound!!! We had no idea of your earthling deviousness of entitling your own kind to the wonders of our technology in music!!! Perhaps you should do a cover story on our band's true mission before we become disenfranchised as local performers and are forced to live out the rest of our lives as the true undercover agents of music that we are!!!
You Alien Musicians have a strange way of promoting yourselves. If you fold the pages of the 3/12 Eugene Weekly just right, it spells, "LAUNCHPAD HAVE LANDED AND WILL ASSIMILATE ALL HUMANS"
Hi, Episode 2 of The Ad Astral podcast is out: The Radical Intergalactic Travel Agency, by DJ Burnham “It had finally happened, an alien invasion! But it wasn't quite what they'd been expecting. ” Click on the image to take you to the Ad Astral Website Hope you enjoy it.
