..Originally from Yorktown, VA, Laura moved to the Washington D.C. area after receiving her degree in Music Composition and Music Industry from James Madison University in 2003. While at JMU, she has had her original music performed at several composition recitals during her attendance. In addition, she has performed clarinet with the Royal Marching Dukes marching band, and various concert bands, including the Wind Symphony - its highest band. She also performed flute with the Concert band for one semester. In addition, she was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and hosted a radio show for three semesters on the WXJM radio station.
Since graduating from JMU, she concentrates on writing songs, primarily in the pop and dance genres, and is an active member of the Songwriters’ Association of Washington. She has performed her songs at several open mics in the area. In addition to participating in their activities, she also assists with maintaining their website and helps with publicizing their events.
Laura has recently teamed up with the Diva, who sings some of her songs. When they perform together, they are Chick & Diva. On this site, Diva sings "I Never Thought I'd Fall In Love" & "Now I Know."
During the day, she works as a helpdesk technician, telephonically fixing computers. When she is not busy working with computers or music, she enjoys various hobbies, including crafts, sewing, stamp collecting, playing computer games - to name a few.
