I love to play with different people but most often I play with Kevin Stock ( vocals and acoustic guitar- amazing songwriter), Dominic von Riedemann (electric guitar also a great songwriter), Sarah Ternoway ( bass player extraordinaire) Animal-Mathew Pearson (drums). I love to write songs with Noah Zacharin (guitar master and unbelieveable songwriter) and have him accompany on guitar (especially my Spanish songs)! I love my Loons band which includes Simon Loban (percussion and an amazing guitarist and songwriter on his own) Jeffrey Bessner ( harmonica player with class!)

Spanish music I grew up with, Classical classical classical!
Bach , Chopin, Beethoven, Rimsky Korsakov, Mozart , Vivaldi....So many . I love music of any kind so you can imagine! I have many influences!
I was born in Madrid, Spain and immigrated to Canada as a child not speaking English whatsoever.
As a child my earliest memories were those relating to music and art.
My father who was a fine art painter and an architect would sit me on his lap and play name that tune with many classical pieces of music! Watching him paint and listening to classical music and opera as well as many other types of music was what my childhood was rich with.
Soon enough I was also drawing, painting and playing music. I was especially into poetry, lyrics and song writing having been exposed to this in early education by a teacher who was particularly fond of folk music. Simon and Garfunkel, Cohen, Dylan we studied these amazing writers in our English classes. I adored writing poetry and this inevitably led to song writing and learning my chosen instrument, the piano. I had a love affair with anything that included piano. I was influenced by the classical masters as well as early Elton John , Billy Joel, Beatles, all kinds of music . Motown was big in my influences also as well as classic and traditional Spanish music that my mom would sing around the house. I had a rich tapestry of influences to drawn on and learn from . My love affair with drawing and painting was also very strong eventually leading me to study art at The Alberta College of Art in Calgary. I became a very successful award winning illustrator working on many important campaigns over the years and illustrating with Rick Jacobson 17 childrens books and many book covers, three of these books ( the most recent) authored by us as well as illustrated.
It wasnt until 6 years ago that the music career I had put aside rose to the surface with a vengeance and I began to once again write and perform all over Toronto. I recorded my first Cd The Other Side in 2003 and this led to an invitation to the New York International Independent Music Festival where my band was awarded best Soft Rock Band ( there were over 600 bands in the event). More performances in New York, performances in various festivals followed. I am deeply entrenched in my musical adventure, a lifelong dream! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to follow my deepest desires in this life .
I am continuing to perform internationally and am preparing to record my second CD.
Hey! Vedette is playing this Friday (Oct 9th) at the Silver Dollar (NW corner of College & Spadina) and will be joined by Palace of the End, Nature Move Faster as well as Actors and Architechts (who promise a PARTY, because they are are having their CD release Party!!!). As well, it is Thanksgiving weekend, and there's just so much to be thankful for, including live music in this great city of ours, and BOOZE... so are you comin' or what?
See blog - The church is about to fail and alienate abortionistas like we have failed homosexuals. The gospel is inclusive! God knows the babies being aborted prior to being formed in the womb but how many of our own involved in wars are quitting because innocent children gets killed? Did God not know these before conception too? Are christian doctors quitting to care for soldiers engaged in a war that kills children? Whose tax monies are funding these wars? Are pastors quitting based on the divorce rate in the church? Whose monies are funding the incarceration of young and often innocent men instead of educating them? Are christian lawyers quitting? Why don't these doctors offer to counsel these people and with the church see if they can work out a way to save the babies? Why do we always look for the easiest way out? Get in position and hold your ground! Quitting is not the answer! This, is the battle that we have been called to fight so abort your plan to go AWOL! If you are in the battle for the Lord and right, keep on the firing line. God will only use a soldier He can trust! We must fight, be brave against ALL evil! Never run or look behind. Instead of going on christian stations to open your gobs and talk impractical nonsense, use the monies for the horses, private jets, no heated swimming pool for 6 months, sell one of the expensive cars, avoid clothing and shoe stores for 3 months, go on a diet if you have to and use those monies to build buildings for these children who those women wanted to abort and we take care of them. Who is ready to show compassion, make real sacrifices, get their hands in the mess and put the light of Christ back on? Who? Bless God for Pastor Tommy Barnett. We christians need to STOP EXPECTING a sinful world to live the life that we saved should be living! How many of these abortions are being done by christians women?? Anybody....??
