Hey everyone. I'm Laura. Music is so much a part of me and who I am. Music should be my middle name!! Just a little background. Yes, my mom had me try out for the Oscar Meyer commercial when I was like 3 and the closest I got to that competition was touching the Oscar Meyer hotdog vehicle. LOL!!
Seriously though, I was chosen to compete in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand for the USA World Showcase back in July, 2006, which aired in August, 2006
In August of 2007, I was 16 then and nothing was going to stop me from trying out for AMERICAN IDOL!! I received the "Golden Ticket" at the Charleston, South Carolina, auditions. I was one of approximately 200 chosen out of close to 10,000 who auditioned that day. I flew back in September of 2007 to get a chance to audition in front of Randy, Paula & Simon. I received another "Golden Ticket" from the producers to advance to see Nigel Lythgoe (Executive Producer of American Idol, and a Judge on "So You Think You Can Dance"). I auditioned in front of Nigel Lythgoe with the worst cold you could imagine (WHAT TIMING! Oh Well). In a nutshell, I was told I was "only 16" and try again next year. That's where it ended.
Moving on.....I won a contest hoted by our local country radio station in March of 2008 for a chance to audition for NASHVILLE STAR. I made it to Day 2/Callbacks, which I auditioned in front of Executive Producers and Record Label executives. I was sent on for a private interview and had several camera shots.
