    Laurel & Hardy's Interests
General*Stan's sayings* - "You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead." "He who filters your good name, steals trash." "Neither do I, too." "What a terrible cat's-after-me." "You bet your life I'm right...I'm not as dumb as you look." "I was dreaming I was awake, and then I woke up and found myself asleep." "Say listen. If you had a face like mine, you'd punch me right in the nose. And I'm just the fellow who can do it." Lola: "Tell me about my dear, dear Daddy; is it true that he's dead?" Stan: "Well, we hope he is, they buried him." "Any bird can build a nest but it isn't everyone that can lay an egg."

*Ollie's sayings* - "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!" "Why don't you do something to HELP me?" "It's a certainty that anything you can do, I can do." "When a Hardy makes his mind up, it's as firm as the Rock of Gibralter!" "You know, there's a right and wrong way to do everything." "Don't keep doing that. You sound like a seal!" "Excuse me please, my ear is full of milk." "At last you're using MY brain!" "She probably has a face that could stop a clock." "I know she went out, but what I'd like to know is where did she went?"

Stan: "Say, what do you think I am, Cinderella? If I had any sense I'd walk out on you."
Ollie: "Well it's a good thing you haven't any sense!"

Stan Laurel: Well, I have a habit of scratching 'me' head. I also like to smoke cigarettes and I light them by using 'me' thumb...you ought to try it.

Oliver Hardy: Hmm...hmm...hmm...I enjoy playing golf, parcheesy, and..uh...pool. I love eating nice, big, juicy steak dinners, with gravy that drips off on the side. A favorite of Mrs. Hardy's to cook.

Hundreds of people have gathered in Stan Laurel's hometown as a statue of the comedian and his sidekick Oliver Hardy was unveiled. The duo, who captivated early cinema-goers with their slapstick mishaps, have been immortalised with a £60,000 bronze sculpture in Ulverston, Cumbria, UK.
