Sounds Like
Who do I sound like??? That is a good question...from what others have said I am a mixture of several artists, including Sarah MacLachlan, Leona Lewis, Pink, and several others. But I think I have my own sound: one that is evolving and developing as a I grow as an artist. You be the judge!
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Singing at home, church and school were the foundation for my development as
a songwriter and recording artist. I never really was aware of my vocal abilities until one Sunday in church, another church member told my mom that I “sang like an angel”. I started singing for events, and was so encouraged by the comments of those who heard me, that I was inspired to develop my talent.
I began writing at 17, simply as a way to express my feelings, through poetry at first, and then turning my words into songs. My inspiration for writing comes from, feelings and emotions I have from specific experiences. I write from my heart about interludes between loves and lives and the roads that have led me on my musical journey to date.
Inspired by Sarah Mc Lachlan’s “I LOVE YOU”, I taught myself how to play acoustic guitar to compliment my songwriting. I often play guitar for my daughter, Leina,who loves to sing with me and is my biggest fan.
