Singer/songwriter Lauren Santiago was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, and began singing at the age of seven with her elementary school choir. She was introduced to hip-hop when she turned 13, and her love for rap music inspired her to write rhymes. Her older brother recognized her ability and frequently brought her along to ciphers and house parties to battle his friends. Lauren enjoyed rhyming but her heart was focused on soul music. She continued to write rhymes, ballads and clever hooks throughout her teens, and during her sophomore year at the University of Southern California she joined the female a cappella group, Sirens. After college, Lauren toured North America as a back-up singer and in 2007 released her solo debut EP, Sundays. Fueled by the soulful down-tempo singles, “Take it Back” and “It’s so Easy,” Sundays has received nationwide airplay on college and independent radio.
Currently, Lauren is working on her debut LP scheduled for a winter 2009 release.
