Here is the ongoing list of people telling me what I sound like (solo stuff)Carole King, Alicia Keys, Fiona Apple, Alanis Morrisette,Sarah Machlachlan, Prince, Tori Amos. Then sometimes I sound like an opera singer, and other days I want to be Bjork or Everything but the Girl!

Since age three, Lauren has been singing and playing keyboards. She began playing in bands by age 11 and was soon performing in all genres of music. By age 17, she moved to New York to earn a bachelor's in opera. Although studying opera, Lauren began singing her own material again as well as adding her vocals to commercials and several albums on labels such as Sony and Atlantic Records-(including a track for Mandy Moore, haha). Eventually, LA came calling and Lauren relocated to further her skills. She earned a degree in music at the Thornton School of Music on a teaching fellowship and had to take a short break from performing while honing her skills. Upon graduation, she quickly returned to the scene playing keyboards for such bands as the PRC/Universal Records band Supercreep. In the meantime, Lauren continued to write with others and perform her own material relentlessly. She has performed in over 40 California venues ranging from a sold out show at the Wiltern (sharing the stage with the Sounds and the Like) to the House of Blues in San Diego. Her voice can be heard in commercials and movies and she has been seen on networks such as the CW, current TV and G4. In summer 2007 she was featured on the cover of www.latimes.com and KTLA morning news regarding her affiliation with the site www.bigsight.org. In October 2007, three of her songs were licensed for the movie The Haunting of Sorority Row starring Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl). In addition, she was selected to partake into ASCAP's prestigious 2007 Lester Sill Songwriting Workshop in which she had the chance to meet such amazing music folks as Linda Perry, Kara DioGuardi and Franne Golde among many others. In summer 2008, she released her acoustic EP The Girl in No. 29 which is available for download via myspace. As of July 2008, she can also be heard as cowriter and singer on the electronic album The Boy Traveler released through Beverly Martel Records and available for download on itunes. She is currently writing an album of electronic music.
