Ditching my bio class and sneaking into clubs with my fake ID. (Just kidding!) I actually like reading (duh), hockey and baseball (watching them, not playing them!), the beach, playing video games, traveling, spending time with friends and family, cooking historical recipes (but not cleaning up afterward), and going to booksignings so I can meet my readers.

I do this page myself, with the help of my teenage daughter Devonie (who is much more MySpace savvy than I am!). I write historical romance novels for Penguin USA (Signet Books). My first six books (Amethyst, Emerald, Amber, Violet, Lily, and Rose) are set in England and Scotland during the Restoration period (late 1600s, when King Charles II was restored to the throne after Cromwell died). My latest books, Lost in Temptation, Tempting Juliana, and The Art of Temptation, are set in the Regency period (Jane Austen's time). As you've probably figured out from the titles, they are trilogies--but each of the books stands alone. I am very careful to write them so that none are confusing even if you haven't read the others. If you try any of my books, I hope you'll enjoy them!
Visit me at http://www.LaurenRoyal.com. You can read excerpts there and also see pictures of the real places my books are set and historical recipes for the foods my characters eat.
Lauren Royal decided to become a writer in the third grade, after winning a "Why My Mother is the Greatest" essay contest and seeing her entry printed in a major newspaper. However, after college she spent fourteen years as the CEO of her own jewelry store chain before remembering her childhood dream and writing her first book. Since then, Lauren's ten published books have won awards including the Golden Quill for Best Historical Romance, the Book Buyers Best Award, the Beacon Award, the Booksellers' Best Award, and Booklist's Top 10 Romance of the Year.
Lauren lives in Southern California with her husband, three children, and one constantly shedding cat. She still thinks her mother is the greatest.
I love your books so much. I have a keeper library with all of the authors that I love, like Heather Graham, Catherine Coulter, Victoria Alexander, Janet Evanovich. You now have a large shelf!
I have read your temptation series - LOST IN TEMPTATION, TEMPTING JULIANA (my favorite, read it twice!) and THE ART OF TEMPTATION in 3 days - and loved all of them!
I can honestly say they are on my keeper shelf.
I can't wait to read your next series and dessert recipes.
I LOVE your books! They are on my keeper shelf. Your characters and style are phenomenal. I bought TEMPTING JULIANA to all my friends who have given up on the romance genre. (And I am still trying out the recipes.)
Thank you for your wisdom my friend... You are now in my "Wise and Thoughtful friends - let us unite" category - check it out ;>)
