One is French, the other one is American-Brazilian. They live in Amsterdam (Netherlands). One day they got caught in a bad traffic jam somewhere between Paris and Rotterdam and spent 12 hours singing along the radio. That’s when they decided to get married and make music together.
Lewis is THE voice. He has been horse riding instructor, gardener, homeless, UNHCR inspector, accountant and only white singer of an all black choir. Laurent is, in another life, sociologist and politician. But he is also a very inspired composer and producer. Together they make hysteric Pop songs, delicate Deep House, testosterone-pumped Techno anthems and a few Disco hits.
They have been compared to Pet Shop Boys, Moroder, Deee Lite, Erasure, Dave Clarke, Aaron-Carl and Debussy. They have already remixed Pacha Hristova, the Butch Bitches, Youssou N’Dour, Sophie Ellis Bextor, DJ Janine, Ma’Larsen, Linda Lamb, natacha Atlas and Aaron-Carl.
Motion is their first 12". Co-produced by Detroit House wonder Aaron-Carl, the Domoticians Mix Deluxe has already proved to be an anthem in Amsterdam, Paris, Detroit, Reykjavik and London underground clubs. Domotician Dub is Berlin Minimalist techno DJ’s favourite track, and the original mix has been officially approved by French House stars Shazz and Laurent Collat (aka Elegia).
Überlove, Laurent & Lewis’s new album, will be out may 2008. Recorded in Amsterdam, Paris, Detroit, Norway and Portugal, it was mastered in Finland. Featuring ten songs, Aaron-Carl, De Held, DJ Janine and Kathy Clugston...
