About me:

Lava Rooms is a portable pasifikana party / 'tiki' lounge (for want of a better term) / art installation / art happening / venue / party / sound system / stage / based in Sydney Australia.

Stepping into one of our events is stepping out of the everyday and into a wonderland atmosphere of art and music, with sights and sounds to excite, soothe, amaze, and entertain you, get you dancing and get you happy, or depending on the event or time of night, get you mellow and relaxed in our tropical island hideaways.

Our parties / events are usually by invitation and are always packed with happy revelers. From our first private event, where several hundred people showed up word spread and we've always had a full house.

We decided to do a myspace page as a way of finding even more like minded souls. We'll be sending out invitations to our myspace friends for our upcoming events and parties.

We have a core collective of djs, bands, performers and artists. Expect to hear, see and dance to exotica, lounge, rockabilly, swing, reggae, dancehall, hawaiian and polynesian, instrumental and surf, ska, rocksteady, a bit of latin, and a lot of other stuff into the mix. Take a trip around the world, starting and finishing in the pacific, and drop into a myriad of exotic musical spots along the way.

Expect to see giant carvings, masks, lots and lots of bamboo, velvet paintings, fish floats, exotic mood lighting, water features, tikis galore, palm trees, costumes, dressed up party goers, and more decor than you can poke a bamboo pole at.

Expect to see hula dancers, polynesian drum troops, exotic dancers and performers. Expect art created live before your eyes - traditional and contemporary carving, painting and other suprises. Expect tropical drinks and food.

We only do a few events a year, as they are big on the decor, so they are big events. At our events those who attend are also part of the event, so come dressed accordingly.

Besides our parties, we do private and public events of all sizes, large parties, art events, festivals, and cultural events. We also do weddings, private parties and functions and can organise the whole thing or part.

We also hire out our stuff from time to time. We've been known to do photo shoots and hire for film shoots as well on projects we've liked, and also do hire for theatre and stage sets.
