QUINCY COLEMAN JOINS KATE WALSH AND BRANDI SHEARER
ON THE AMOEBA MUSIC SPRING TOUR

Starting May 12 in Portland and closing June 3 in Denver, tour includes a benefit for multiple sclerosis in Los Angeles on May 16

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Quincy Coleman, the singer/songwriter cited by American Songwriter magazine for her “gorgeous voice” and “undeniably catchy” songs, will join fellow artists Kate Walsh and Brandi Shearer as part of the Amoeba Music Spring Tour. The tour will launch in Portland on May 12 and will cover the East Coast, Midwest and South through its June 3 finale in Denver.

Coleman, who has toured the past two years to promote her indie Come Closer album, has been seen twice on “Last Call With Carson Daly,” with a third appearance scheduled. She was heard in last year’s Fox Searchlight film Waitress with “Give It Away” from her Also Known As Mary album, and her song “Afraid” was on the soundtrack of the Academy Award-winning film Crash. A Coca Cola and Paste magazine “Artist of the Month” in February 2007, her music can be heard in 5,000 Starbucks locations across North America as well as XM’s Hear Music and XM Café channels. She has been featured and reviewed in the pages of Paste, Performing Songwriter, American Songwriter, Venice, Skope and Harp, and has sold out shows at Joe’s Pub in New York as well as Hotel Café and Largo in Los Angeles.

In February of this year, the documentary Quincy Coleman: It’s All In the Song had its premier at the Cinequest Film Festival. Directed by Jaime Gomez, it portrays a day in the life of an up and coming singer/songwriter and the triumphs and struggles she encounters.

Born into a family of performers (her dad is Golden Globe winner Dabney Coleman, her mom is model/actress Jean Hale Coleman, and her brother Randy has toured with Def Leppard), Quincy pursued entertainment dreams throughout high school and college.

After flirting with acting in New York, she did the college student thing and headed

FOX SEARCHLIGHT FEATURE FILM WAITRESS SERVES UP MUSIC FROM QUINCY COLEMAN

(Los Angeles, May 3, 2007) Quincy Coleman will further please theater-goers this week as her music and vocals lend an unmistakable imprint on the Fox Searchligh release, "Waitress".

With a single on the soundtrack of the Academy Award winning film Crash, “Come Closer" on the recently released Jason Alexander movie “How to Go on a Date in Queens, and pre-show placement of Come Closer in all Laemmle Theatres (Southern California), City Theatres (New York City), and Angelika Theatres (NYC, Dallas, Houston and Sacramento), Quincy Coleman’s music is no stranger to the big screen.

An audience hit at the Sundance Film Festival, Kerri Russell (Mission Impossible 3, The Upside of Anger) stars in the title role as a small town woman who transforms her hopeless life into a hilarious and unexpected love story. Much like Quincy’s music, WAITRESS serves up a sweet, sassy and delicious slice of life tale. The film is illustrated by the title track written by film director/writer Adrienne Shelley and sung by Quincy. In addition, Quincy’s original track, "Give It Away," appears in a pivotal scene and is used to heighten the emotion and drama of the scene.

It is no surprise that Quincy is in demand for film placements. Tastemakers across the country have been championing her music via TV, radio and film ever since her latest album Come Closer hit the indie charts. She was recently Coca Cola/Paste Magazine’s Artist of the month, she can be heard throughout 5,000 Starbucks across North America, and she was hand picked personally by music tastemaker, Nic Harcourt, to perform in-studio on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic.

The southern songbird herself, Dolly Parton describes Quincy as having "...all the goods, a beautiful voice, such sweet emotion and tenderness...very talented.” She has been called a cross between Dwight Yoakam, Chris Isaak and Norah Jones b
