It was designed to reflect a strong passion for the arts as well as a vibrant connection to the robust community of artists in Los Angeles. The location, opposite the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the Miracle Mile District, mirrors an ongoing commitment to the cultural history of the area and the important contemporary arts movement here now.
Lawrence Asher Gallery presents both emerging and mid-career artists, exhibiting work from the United States and abroad. The Gallery features original paintings, drawings, mixed media works and sculpture. Each show incorporates a nuanced blend of styles while offering new and exciting works to the savvy collector.
LAG attempts to offer a unique, inspiring viewing experience as it showcases those who create art.

The Paint(Painting) as a necessity, an eternal one rediscovered... Propose in the glances an approach of the paint(painting) by demythologizing at once(at the same time) the pictorial practice and the role of the artist. The strangeness of the act to paint, this focal length on an internal reality brutally to exorcise in the material(subject). The practice blows up felt as an intrusive instinct, the dichotomy between the individual and the creator. The picture(board), the place of an act the marks of beginning and the end of which merge to engender its own space time(weather) Perdition, and ultimate echos with elements: Bark, cell(unit), vegetable, mineral... Stagnation, fluidity(flow)... Reflection of the being.
Video documentation of a performance piece by my friend Nate Kassel who rode around on his bike slapping high-fives to people who were trying to hail taxi cabs in NYC. Enjoy!
