Lawrence first broke into the music scene in early 2001, teaming up with R&B great Eric 'Textual Healing' Hirsh and bubble-gum pop star Paul 'Tender Spence' Salomon in their critically-acclaimed St. Louis-based band, "The Hirsch Band," and with them performing the white gold single "Lost Dream" as well as other chart-toppers. Before long, Eric was called into active duty in North Carolina, and Lawrence and Salomon formed the mother-approved "Paul and Denes," together making such hits as "Without You," "Secrets Revealed," and "Broken Heartbeat." The release of their eponymous breakout album brought quick recognition and they soon began collaborating with virtuoso Corey Rothschild to record their second album, "Strung Out." After their legendary performance at the Kirkwood Theater in 2002, Paul and Lawrence began to drift apart (geographically), and continued to collaborate off and on until mid-2003, when their professional relationship officially came to an end. Paul went on to create the grunge-fusion group "Denes" in Appleton, Wisconsin. "Denes"s namesake, on the other hand, faded into pulp obscurity.
Little is known of Lawrence's subsequent Salinger-esque reclusion, but one could often hear rumors of his struggles with alcohol, depression, and parallel parking. Lawrence has since denied most rumors, attributing his inactivity to chronic laziness.
Fast forward to early 2007, when at long last Lawrence once again rose into the public eye with a new look, a new sound, a slew of new original solo songs, and a rapidly expanding fan base. After a hugely successful tour of Japan in the summer of 2007, he returned to make the rounds in St. Louis, while preparing for the big move to Los Angeles! Stay tuned for more updates as Lawrence gets settled in the City of Angels.
