What are folks saying about 'Basic Needs'...
the debut album from Leigh Ann Yost?
*In Top 5 regionally recorded and produced albums of 2006, as seen in Louisville Magazine, Nov 2006. www.louisville.com
“…14 tracks of sparkling acoustic-electric pop and folk goodies. Behind that sparkle, a sound so clear and clean that it sounds like it would cut glass…..Yost sings in a honey-rich alto. The selections vary in terms of theme and tempo: the snap of “Jenny Brown,” the sacredness of “See Rock City,” and the reggae bounce of “Breathe,”….But it all ends with the graceful, rainy-day sorrow of the title track, a fitting period that ends the work with a long sigh…..Get more than your expectations met…”
Tim Roberts, Louisville Music News. October 2006
"... 'Basic Needs' by Leigh Ann Yost was an immediate add to our playlist--it blew me away! Excellent production, superb songwriting and musicianship and deliriously good vocals. This album is a must have!"
- Laura Shine - DJ / Louisville Music Liason, WFPK Radio
"... a fine new singer/songwriter with a beautiful voice."
- Tim Krekel - Nationally Recorded Composer & Musician
"... a magnificent new record."
- Michael Young - Host of "Roots n' Boots" on WFPK Radio
"I have watched Leigh Ann Yost explode into the Louisville music scene over the past year. She's a talented writer and performer who engages audiences with great music and lyrics of substance. Keep an eye on this dynamic performer; she's going places."
John Gage, host, Kentucky Homefront Live Radio Program, accomplished singer/songwriter
BAND BIO
Singer. Songwriter. Mama. Leigh Ann Yost. Songs that can't escape anyone’s mind or heart: loves gained, loves lost, lives lived and roads crossed. Each song it's own, her less-is-more approach to songwriting results in the perfect marriage between harmonies and melodies, catchy hooks, and memorable lyrics. Diving into the Louisville, KY, music scene, her September 2006 freshman release, Basic Needs, got airplay just two hours after being dropped it off at the radio station. Yost was quickly invited to play the coveted one- hour live radio program Live Lunch, WFPK Radio Louisville. Other national acts who have played Live Lunch include Sam Bush, Citizen Cope, Jonatha Brooke, Maia Sharp, My Morning Jacket, Kasey Chambers, and Nickel Creek, just to name a few. Notable appearances include WDRB Fox in the Morning, Kentucky Homefront Live Radio Show, regular guest at Actors’ Theatre Late Seating, as well as premier live-music venue The Jazz Factory, an in-store performance at Louisville’s favorite indie music store, earx-tacy®. Most recently, Yost was accepted into the Kentucky Arts Council Performing Arts Directory. Her CD is in stock at Borders Books and Music, earx-tacy, and cdBaby.com. She was the cover story of Louisville’s music rag Louisville Music News in January 2007. Louisville Magazine lists Basic Needs in the Top 5 regionally recorded and produced albums of 2006. Leigh Ann lives in Louisville, KY, with her husband and 2 sons, and continues to write music and perform regionally. She is also the Marketing Director of the Louisville School of Rock.

Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks

to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.
we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.
anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com
I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!
please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!
