El Lazo Invisible is the individual project of the sound artist Jose Ignacio Lopez.
This project was born in the border zone of the U.S. with Mexico (San Diego / Tijuana) in 1998. The personal interest that generated this project was the production of sound pieces that would represent landscapes of Latin America from various levels of interpretation and conceptualization, with the abstraction of their urban cultural elements.
The sound sources for the construction of these sonic collages are basically from the digital realm, although the process also includes field recordings and home made oscilators for the creation of reconstructed atmospheres within the realm of the click and the microtone.
EL LAZO INVISIBLE es el proyecto individual de José Ignacio López, fundador de la disquera independiente tijuanense Discos Invisibles (DI) . Desde 1999, El Lazo Invisible ha estado experimentando con la creación de paisajes sonoros, sonidos minimalistas y el mundo del error y la disección digital. Tiene en su haber 5 discos como solista que pueden ser adquiridos a través de DI. Además de ser creador y organizador del Festival en Línea Electrónica Mexicana, en el sitio www.electronicamexicana.org . Además, estudia la maestría y doctorado en Computer Music en la Universidad de California en San Diego. [...] Un genio de la música por computadora, músico sensible y soñador, genial estratega y líder de la electrónica independiente en México. Su nacionalidad peruana no lo inhibe de ser un mexicano más.
