LazyBaby were born in the summer of 2007 when Sam and Lee decided it was time to go back to their roots, abandon jazz, and play some fun and funky pop! The other band members were quickly drafted in. Cherie was already very well known on the Northern music scene, performing throughout the region with every band that could get their hands on her! Chris and Ste were both working away on their degrees at Leeds College of Music.
They all piled into Lee’s old Citreon Synergie and took a little trip to France. 6 days, 78 bottles of cheap French beer, 2 bottles of gin, 7 bottles of tonic, 18 twisters and 5 packs of haribo later LazyBaby had written their first 4 songs and were ready to return to civilisation and entertain the masses!
Since then the band have been working hard developing their sound, tightening up, writing new songs and gigging their socks off. They have recorded an album, Lazy Baby Land, produced several videos and are currently composing new songs for their second album.
LazyBaby remain unsigned and have already achieved an awful lot for a band in their position having self-funded all their current projects. Enquiries to info@lazybabyland.com.
LazyBaby offer an incredibly diverse range of music and yet it all fits together with breathtaking impact live. From haunting, ground-breaking songs like Sinking Town and Alibi, to outright funky pop numbers like Good Girl and Quick Fix… and you’re after something a little bit different then definitely check out Kahlon!
The Raising Malawi event at Leeds University was a fantastic success raising thousands of pounds for this very important charity. Many thanks to all who came down. Please support the charity at www.raisingmalawi.org.
"Lazybaby were mighty fine on the Doc Brown stage. Not your usual "local band" this lot. They groove beautifully and their singer has a brilliant voice."

Music Live festival review
“…bring those dreamlike qualities back to the fore with one of the hottest jazzed up, funked out, concept bands ever to hit the market in recent times with the very sultry, very sensual and eclectic Lazybaby. These new school funkers have on numerous occasions over the last six months or so, ripped it up at previous events we have staged and this event should be no exception. Believe me if you miss this performance you will be very sorry, because this band is on the way up, in fact they’re on a journey to the stars, you’ve heard it hear first.” Funktion Live 2008
