Lazy Brad Lewis
You would think that Lazy’s work ethic would be that of a snail, however Lazy is slavin’ over a hot guitar every night. He hails from Toronto, Canada moved to South Los Angeles in the early ‘60’s. A student of New Orleans legend Ernest McLean (Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis, Lloyd Price). Formed his own country band in the ‘80’s, while backing Joe Houston and at the same time playing in Will Ray’s Gila Monsters. Also playing mandolin occasionally for Carla Olsen & The Textones, his own band Cheyenne was awarded Band of the Year and he was awarded Male Vocalist of the Year from the CCMA in the early‘90’s. After playing guitar slinger for SST’s Brother Weasel, LA’s Sherpas, and various songwriters Brad put together his own CD of heart felt tunes “All My Friends Are Bartenders”, in 2006, and in 2009 released his second CD “DownInside” a more blues rock influenced project. Based in Anaheim, but touring throughout the SouthWest as a solo act as well as with his crack band. Catch Lazy B as he will always surprise the unsuspecting ear with a mandolin tune when you think he’s a blues artist or a Howlin’ Wolf tune just when you think he’s gone country. You see “Lazy” is something he is striving for… not what he is.

That is soo cool! Thanks for sharing that with me. What a great article and interview. I'm still sporting the Lazy Brad Lewis sticker on my cadillac! I played your cd for a friend of mine the other night. He was impressed. Take care, Brad. Keep in touch.
