ELECTROJUNKIES, sometimes they call themselves LCTRJNKS, is a group of electronic music DJs/Producers and visual artists from Jakarta, Indonesia. The group was started in 2007 by Raditya Iryandi and Jim Geovedi. Few months later, Victor Mamuaya, Azhar Pangesti and Melvin Salim joined the group to help with visuals.

It was all started from a small vodka bar in Jakarta, Indonesia; where both usually hang out with friends after office hours. Both understands that DJs are part magician. It is their job to create an atmosphere, to keep the night and the mood flowing, take the audience on a journey from one hour to the next. And it must be done seamlessly, for if the audience can tell when one track ends and other begins, the DJ is not doing his/her job properly.

Electrojunkies are into giving people what they want, as they realise that digital technology will move things forward and enable them to give unique performances every time. That is why Electrojunkies never play the original track. They edited the tracks very well to bring something new-but-familiar to the audience.

BBC.co.uk described them as “do not look like Bond villains. But possess secrets that some of the real villains might kill for”. Both are respected persons in the worldwide Internet security community and as the ancient Greek “techne” means both technology and art, they use and abuse those two things persistently.

Raditya is an award winning musician. Multi talented and fast learner, he has moved back and forth between being a performer and movie producer. JHONY, one of the movies he produced won Favourite Movie award in the Global Indie Film Festival. He loves to capture people with his camera, more than talking to them.

Jim loves context-free and generative art — and once wrote a song based on detected network intrusions. He was nominated as semi-finalist of Agrikulture’s Gosip remix competition for his deep house version track. He does not watch television except when he visits people who does. It is not a political statement. He would prefer not to talk about religion and politics. He smokes a lot and never trying to quit.
