Heroes
My hero, my mother. What defines a hero? To me going through 9 months of uncertianty and 20 more year of unpredictable alone, and still stand up strong. To open your own doors, and make your own way in the world, to drive yourself to the E.R while in labour, all while wearing a skirt. From carrying a baby...to carrying a man, to raising a force, to being the force behind the force...To being black, on top of being a woman, on top of being a single mother, while having nothing to prove to anybody, while aving everything to prove to the world. Stronger, richer, and bolder than any man. And then to raise a man? Damn....thats a hero to me.
This September there will be a trade show in New York that I am trying to raise money to attend. The cost of the show is $7000.00 (yes seven thousand). The reason I would like to do the trade show is because it puts clothing labels ,like mine, directly in the paths of buyers. This means that Ellie Owen could be in a store near you!
