According to “The Habits of Good Society: A Handbook for Ladies and Gentleman, (1865)”, Lady Grace may best be described as somewhat of a Fast Young Lady: “An avowed flirt….who prefers sitting with men when they are smoking, rides furiously and even plays billiards”.
Inspired by the musings of a life less ordindary, Lady Grace blends the finer points of her European lineage with the rites of passage of the modern woman. An impeccable hostess who excels in baking and polite conversation, Lady Grace is also not afraid to sit with her elbows firmly on the table, and with a sharp tongue she delights in the company of those who appreciate the humor in taking life, and oneself, too seriously.
Out and About, Lady Grace has been quietly making a mark on the Melbourne music scene frequenting venues such as Manchester Lane and Wesley Anne and has played alongside artists such as The Yearlings, Jordie Lane and Emma Dean (Qld). Lady Grace has also been dipping her little toe in the festival circuit, appearing at Qld Multicultural Festival and Beechworth Harvest Celebration.
With a sprinkling of influence from artists such as Hanne Hukkelberg, M Ward, The Beatles and Ella Fitzgerald, Lady Grace draws on a love of jazz, blues, pop and folk to create a delicate catalogue exploring power, love, loss, fantasies, yearning, and of course, the perils of brooding and narcissism.
More recently, Lady Grace has been frolicking in the compay of a pride of fine young gentleman to form a new brand of pop rock..... Ivy Lee..... due to release their debut EP very soon......
