Where do I begin...? Music has been my life since I was a little girl. Beginning with Madonna, Michael Jackson, The Eurythmics, Wilson Phillips, Cyndi Lauper(loved the 80's as you can see). Now I still have a great appreciation for 80's music but also can't get enough of Sarah Harmer, The Cardigans, Lenny Kravitz, Elton John, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Sam Roberts, The Cranberries, Sarah Slean, Lisa Loeb, Sarah McLaughlan, Radiohead...the list goes on!
I've been singing for as long as I can remember but only recently learned how to play the guitar. I decided to learn because I was tired of asking friends to learn songs I wanted to sing. Learning how to play gave me a lot more confidence and made me feel comfortable enough to perform in front of people. I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now and have written a few songs. For the most part I sing covers and over the past year have been lucky enough to land some gigs around St. John's.
All the songs on my space were written and performed by me(with the exception of Blue which was written by Don-e Coady). The recordings are very rough for now and I plan on rerecording everything someday soon!! Thanks to Brad Wheeler for letting me record these songs on his computer. ;o)
"hey you" makes us want to run up and kiss you and tell you we're sorry (even though I'm pretty sure we didn't do anything wrong! hahaha) thanks for singing and playing with us at the grapevine last night, you sounded awesome!
peace,
SSJ
