Lealea Jones has been a recognisable face on the music scene since her teens. She formally released singles as a feature artist under producers Okay Ma via the UK Based BBE Label, home to artists such as J Dilla and Jazzy Jeff.
Through a combination of her fresh, unique sound and her sassy personality she has managed to capture audiences worldwide, from small intimate gigs at Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Café and the Mean Fiddler to the larger stages of the famous Sonar Festival (Barcelona), London Jazz Festival, London Earls Court and at various Google events such as World Economic Forum Switzerland and Google Zeitgeist. Audiences at these events which included the “Forbes’s” World’s rich list, Queen of Jordan, Gordon Brown, Bono from U2, Peter Gabriel and the founders of Google, Youtube and Facebook. It’s at the World Economic Forum that she met a friend who later showed her musical work to President Obama.
Still only 23, this songstress from Hackney has already shared the stage with international selling artists including Jay Z, Beyonce and Amy Winehouse. She was also recently approached to pen a song for Rihanna’s forthcoming album.
With a string of dates already planned to coincide with the release of debut single “Cake”, this year is set to be an eventful one for Miss Jones as her album is due to drop later this year.
