I LOVE to read - I always have 2-3 books going at a time. I love to eat chocolate (dark, please), and I make great dark chocolate truffles.
I LOVE writing - well, actually, I enjoy finishing a written piece, I suffer during the actual writing process.
I LOVE to make music.
I LOVE swimming, kayaking, and taking long walks with my husband and our little guy.
Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence
You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.
An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.
You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.
A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.
You would make a fantastic storyteller, poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.
I enjoy early music, classical music, and folk music. I have a special fondness for traditional Irish music, and ballads. I own almost every Cooper & Nelson recording - my favorite group (with or without Kate Early). I also write some of the music I use in my shows.
Movies
Favorite movie: The Princess Bride. (My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!)
Television
Television? I don't have time to watch. Sad to admit, I moved to this area about 5 years ago, and I still can't remember the TV stations.
Books
I've recently submitted a manuscript, "Captain Geronimo's Noisy Night", the first in a planned children's picture book series titled The Adventures of Captain Geronimo. The stories are based on episodes from our three years of living aboard a boat, traveling over 12,000 miles. They are told from our dog's point of view.
Now I'm working on a memoir of our trip, based on my emailed journal and the stories I wrote along the way. The working title is Someday Soon: How one man, one woman, and one dog lived the journey of a lifetime.
Favorite books that I buy and keep forever and read over and over:
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
Newford Series by Charles de Lint
Mary Russell series by Laurie King
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
War for the Oaks by Emma Bull
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
Tuesday Next series by Jasper Fforde
Dune by Frank Herbert (but not the sequels)
The Ballad series by Sharyn McCrumb
Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey
Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters
Borderlands series by Terri Windling, and anything related to her studio
Archangel series by Sharon Shinn
Heroes
Personal heroes: My mom is my hero. She is an awesome, vibrant, healthy, supportive, interesting, committed, dedicated woman. When people say I am a lot like her, I think that is one of the greatest compliments.

WHAT IS STORYTELLING? Here are three great definitions:
1. Storytelling is the art of live narrative performance, dynamically shaped by audience response. (from the Northlands Storytelling Network at www.northlands.net.)
2. Storytelling is the interactive art of using words and actions to reveal the elements and images of a story while encouraging the listener’s imagination. (from the National Storytelling Network at www.storynet.org.)
3. Storytelling is relating a tale to one or more listeners through voice and gesture. It is not the same as reading a story aloud or reciting a piece from memory or acting out a drama—though it shares common characteristics with these arts. (from the National Council of Teachers of English at http://www.ncte.org.)
If you want to be linked to my friends space, send me a message and tell me why.
Here on myspace, I like to network with other artists - storytellers, writers, painters, musicians, designers, etc. As a former children's librarian, I enjoy meeting librarians who are on myspace (even though one of our legislators wants to ban social networking sites at all public schools & libraries in Illinois). I like to meet people who are enjoying life. And I certainly like to meet people who love stories!
I've been fortunate in my life so far to meet, work with, and be inspired by some of my favorite storytellers, including Beth Horner, Elizabeth Ellis, Janice Del Negro, Rosalie Sorrels; Chuck Larkin (gone but never forgotten), and of course my support group: Sue Black, Jim & Karen Decker, Donna Dettman, Don Falkos, and Linda Gorham. These are the people who spur me on to reach for the stars.
Storyteller Leanne Johnson's Friend Space (Top 24)
We know you love stories. OK, that is a no-brainer. You wouldn't be on our friends list if you didn't! Right? :)
Well, guess what? We are about to celebrate one year of producing Activated Stories online and we are excited! And you can help us party!
You are invited to leave your comments and reviews at iTunes, dig it at Digg.com or call our new voice mail line 206-350-5016 and we just might play your comments on an upcoming episode. And be sure to add yourself to our new frapper map for friends and
audience members.
"Thoroughly Entertaining" says Starcom on iTunes "The performed stories are excellent and the production is first rate. It's fun, lighthearted, and addicting for the whole family."
By the way, even though it is called a podcast, you don't need an iPod to listen. You can listen on your computer for free.
Each episode is about 15-20 minutes long.
Also we'll be "act!vating" summer reading programs at libraries all across the midwest and east coast this summer - hope one of them is near you!
Thanks for your comment . It is said that there is a language which exceeds 6000 in the world. It has the sound where the respective language is beautiful. I play Japanese sound.
"Storytelling is the intentional sharing of a narrative through words and actions for the benefit of both the listener and teller." -Sean Buvala, Storyteller.net

It would be wonderful to meet you! Yes, I know Mike. He has been to our public library telling stories and playing music for the kids. We went to a dulcimer fest at Dickson Mounds and saw him play music with his son. He's a treasure. I've not been to New Salem for a few years. My husband helped build some of the newer buildings there.
Thanks for the add!
Thank you Leanne for your lovely comment:) Very soulful music in here! Beautiful.
Feel free to check out my blog if you like....:)
Greetings from Norway

Let me offer a testimonial-- Leanne wins the prize for the most energetic and entertaining version of the Three Little Pigs I've ever heard... rivaling Friz Freleng's 1957 "Three Little Bops" for the jazziest rendition of all time.
