In particular, I have an obsession with anything and everything relating to zombies. I enjoy just about any movie made about zombies (Night of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, Army of Darkness, Fido, etc.).
| | Television | The Office, Buffy the Vampyre Slayer, Roseanne, The Simpsons, Ugly Betty, The L Word, House M.D., The Dog Whisperer, Monk, Futurama, Xena: Warrior Princess, Arrested Development, Meerkat Manor, Newsradio, Firefly, That '70s Show, South Park, Seinfeld, Charmed
| | Books | Anything with words. I have a weakness for fantasy or anything with a fairy tale feel to it, or anything with a feminist angle or that relates to mythology and witchcraft.
I adored Carol J. Adams' The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory. One book I think everyone should read is The Autobiography of Malcolm X.
Some of my favourite works of fiction are Amy Tan's The Kitchen God's Wife and The Joy Luck Club, Alice Walker's The Color Purple and The Temple of My Familiar, Kate Chopin's The Awakening, Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper, and Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House, in addition to things like The Lord of the Rings (and all related materials) and the Harry Potter series.
I also really enjoy books about trees, such as Ancient Trees: Trees That Live for 1000 Years by Anna Lewington and Remarkable Trees of the World by Thomas Pakenham. Books about language, punctuation, grammar, and writing are fun for me too, especially Eats, Shoots, and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss.
I could go on and on about books! | | Heroes |

About me:
Introvert with a strong attachment to trees, the element of water, and the moon and whose primary passions are books, photography, and films.
Unlike most people I tend to meet, I don't enjoy going to parties, I don't enjoy getting drunk, and I would rather be alone with a book than go out to hang around with big crowds of noisy strangers. Really, my idea of "a fun night out" actually involves staying in with a book and a movie, or possibly a trip to the library, or a long walk through several of the area parks. I'm a dreamer and live inside my imagination a lot of the time.
I spend most of my spare time watching TV shows and films on DVD, taking three-hour walks on the bike trails with my camera in tow, exploring Quarry Hill, photographing my everyday world, reading at the Rochester Public Library, or trading jokes and spending time with my sweetheart of 10 years.

Who I'd like to meet:
...people who are understanding, open-minded, sensitive, interesting, and well-balanced. Artists, photographers, introverts, writers, creatives, free thinkers, solitary types, and darkly inclined individuals. People who can recognize the beauty in the everyday world around us, in both darkness and light. People who strive to create art and beauty out of their surroundings. Also, people who are interested in beginning or leading a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle.
I welcome anyone who wants to add me; however, I do ask that you message me to introduce yourself and tell me why you're adding me, or at least leave me a comment to say hello. I just like to know that people are actually reading my profile, rather than clicking around and adding random people. I'm here to actually get to know people and make new (and reconnect with old) friends! =)
Thanks for reading!
