"I'll take the blame for what is right or wrong, and sing that same old tired song again." This simple yet poetic line from Leaving July's new single, "Taking the Blame," sets the tone for the new EP coming out early this year. Having spent the past year touring and building a fan base, Leaving July is set to take the local and national music scene by storm with their youthful, energetic live shows and poetic lyrics. "Writing music is more than just structuring chords together," says guitarist Jason Gonzales. "It's about structuring a feeling of energy, passion, and meaning together in a way that the audience understands what we are trying to portray without even reading the lyrics..." Leaving July took this passion for writing music to a higher level with their new EP. In January and February of 2006, Leaving July hit the studio to begin writing a new five-song concept EP based on the five stages of grief. Having written the five songs, the band set out in March for Muse Studios in Atlanta, Georgia to work with producers Lee March and Andy Reilly (Far Less, Fight Paris, etc.). In a ten day time period, the band spent every hour in the studio, recording what would become "When the Sky Comes Falling," the culmination of hard work and persistence. With this new EP, Leaving July hopes to connect with audiences in a way that has never been done before. With a video, new website and DVD, Leaving July is determined to flood their audiences' senses with incredible live performances and beautiful heartfelt lyrics.

Hi there Leaving July first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
