whenever I make something that has a part in it I don't have, I go on ebay and buy 100 of them (usually from hong kong of thailand so its cheap) I also do searches on general electronic components sometimes people sell boxes of random stuff and its always worth getting random stuff - which I got a bag of last night as it happens
you need to build up a stock of caps, I've got 100s of thousands of the fuckers now and as for resistors.. uncountable all sorted into little trays of each value build up a good stock and put it out of the way of children.. especially solder the flux in it is highly toxic
