Bio
[Winter 2010] "There is no true label or definition that one could apply to Misterlee, it stands up not only as its own sound, but provokes emotion in a way that most music can't these days" [Airscale, FolkItUp.net] 10 years of Misterlee has seen Lee Allatson's twisted visions manifest through 3 albums, some 200+ gigs in the UK and US including shows with amongst others Sebadoh, Duke Special, Mountain Goats, Jeffrey Lewis and Enon, with appearances at the Secret Garden Party, Summer Sundae and In The City; featured in Ten4 Mag, DiS, Artrocker and played on BBC6 and ResonanceFM. A new studio album 'this disquiet dog', recorded with long time collaborator and guitar player Jamie Smith, is set for release March 1st 2010 (Cat. Num. MISTERLEE4, Rubber Czech Records, CD album, distributed by Genepool/Universal). Watch out for the download only singles Littleman (We're Alive Here) and Don't Kill Anyone Today, available worldwide through your favourite music download site from mid January 2010 - both streaming freely from the player above - We're Alive Here! x .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...................... -

Influences
My family, Mozart, Iggy and The Stooges, Hunter S. Thompson, the seasons, Bill Drummond, Charles Ives, Banksy, booze, Cesar Manrique, Jim Jarmusch, Confucious, Ken Hom, Erik Satie, silence, Lloyd Knibb, Joe Coleman, Chinese astrology, Route 66 (The Mother Road), the undersea world, Bates' butchers, New York, Wong Kar-wai, Led Zeppelin, Amsterdam, human beings, myths (but not mythology), mavericks (not The Mavericks, but what the hell - I'm having Brett Maverick!), PG Tips, some strange and inexorable forces which still remain unknown fully to me... -
Sounds Like
........ .. .. .. .. .. ...... From the benign clouds of today, a cannonous bass drum is about to fall right into your house. And then all hell breaks loose... The delivery here is as brutal as it is efficient: heavy tools of weapons grade: one bass drum, one snare drum and one guitar only issued by the miserly quartermaster (who, it would appear, was also once a member of The Stooges). ..
