The following is a review by Scott Southard from Hellride Music reviewing "Guilty of Sloth" (TeePee Records Split release)
"Leechmilk, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, is one of my favorite Doom/Sludge bands that have ever existed. Maybe I'm being a bit biased when I say this record will kick you in the dick, but I seriously doubt it. Using creative samples, the songs are fresh and seem to be played on pure musical instinct rather than having the feel of a rigid studio schedule. Bloody screams of pain blast from the speakers as a wall of grinding guitar tone, to say nothing of the intense drumming (just the right amount of double bass when it's needed!) busts your eardrums. These six tracks are just dripping with grime and filth, and if you're a sludge or doom metal fan... you need this."
HISTORY Back in '98 Chris started jamming with Charr and Greg who were sharing a house together which later would be known as the Parasight house. The basement of the house was used for shows on the weekends where bands such as From Ashes Rise, High on Fire, Mastodon and Weedeater played before they even made a blip on the map of heavy music.
Chris then put an ad out looking for a singer that read something like this "Criminally insane singer needed for heavy doom/metal band." After a couple of collect calls from the local prison, Dan called up and tried out for the band. After a couple of sessions the lineup was complete.
Initially Leechmilk played a bunch of shitty local shows before venturing out into other cities around the Southern U.S. As predicted the initial response was of hatred, confusion, denial, and skepticism. Luckily Berserker Records out of Denver, CO. decided to put a compilation out with LM in the initial band lineup.
LM did several west coast tours that did little to earn money for the band but did help create a decent loyal following throughout the country. Still, Atlanta was a hard nut to crack for LM. It was as if Atlanta, home of hip-hop, didn't have a heavy music scene to support. Though DIY shows were always good options.
Finally in the summer of 2001 LM got signed onto Tee Pee Records out of NYC. Tee Pee put out a split cd for LM entitled "Guilty of Sloth" with fellow doom band, Sofa King Killer out of Oh. LM went on a west coast tour to try and support the release but as soon as they arrived back in Hotlanta, Charr was let go. No other replacement was found since then...So please stop emailing this site in order to get Leechmilk to come to your town. It ain't gonna happen.
The show that was filmed below is one where Leechmilk played in a warehouse out in Memphis, TN back in 2001 in the dead heat of summer.
