LEF 2009 is looking for...
The Queen of the Northern Burlesque Scene!
Leeds Erotica Festival 2009 are hosting a burlesque competition to raise money for the Burlesque Against Breast Cancer charity. There will be heats, a panel, public vote and the winners (one beginner, one advanced) will get their hands on a flurry of wonderful prizes still be be announced including photoshoots, guaranteed press features, burlesque goodies... all sorts of imaginings! And profits will of course go straight to charity.
Further details of the biggest and most glamorous burlesque competition to hit the north will be released shortly. In the mean time we'd like to hear from...
Burlesque Beauties and Teasing Temptresses! who would like to enter the competition. Beginners and more advanced performers welcome, although we're discouraging professional dancers. We'd love you to be involved but we'd like to give the up-and-coming dancers a fighting chance!(Please note there will be a small entrance fee of £5)
Prize Sponsors! Do you have a prize you'd like to donate? From corsets and pasties to press column inches or flyer design and printing, anything that will help our winning diva advance her burlesque career is more than welcome. In exchange LEF 2009 can offer PR promotion via the media, printed promotional materials and the Leeds Erotica Festival website www.leedserotica.org.uk
Other Performers! If you're a professional burlesque dancer, or have a cabaret or musical act and would like to be involved in the competition, we are looking for acts to perform at the competition final, both before and after the competition as well as in the interval. We can offer you no money as this is a charity event but if that doesn't put you off, get in touch!
