The Leeds Festival was brought to us in 1999, when the Reading Festival was deemed popular enough to warrant another venue.
The festival, know by its official name as the Carling Weekend is one of the most popular festivals in Britain.. with tickets selling out faster every year.
The fest is run by the Meanfiddler Music Group and has an ever increasing capacity with 2007 looking at around 75,000 people
The stages at the Carling Weekend include:
THE TOPMAN UNSIGNED TENT (for local bands to play)
THE COMEDY TENT
THE DANCE TENT/LOCK UP
(where there is one day dedicated to dance music and the next two days dedicated to the radio1 lock up shows pick of bands, which are mainly punk and hardcore)
THE CARLING STAGE
THE NME/RADIO 1 STAGE
THE MAIN STAGE
The lock up could be going back to it's original name of THE CONCRETE JUNGLE due to the supposed end of the lockup show on radio 1.. unknown at this time but we will get back to you..

We are proud to endorse the love not riots movement, which had a huge impact on the festival in 2006

We believe that there is no place for riots in any type of festival situation, which could ultimately end in the refusal of the police and the council in Leeds to grant a permit to mean fiddler, thus ending the festival
