Lee Genesis' deepest desire is to have his music heard throughout the world.
He was given the opportunity to perform at noted jazz festivals and concerts througthout Europe alongside great artists such as Dizzy Gillespie, Cassandra Wilson, the Marsalis brothers and Jon Hendricks to name a few.
Lee performed as vocalist for such Jazz greats as: George Russell, Cecil Taylor, Jacki Byard, Red Garland, Babatune Olatuji and others. He has DJ releases from Junior Vasquez, Bob Sinclar, Georgie Porgie, Gomi, David Morales, Tommy Musto, Matthais Heilbronn, Terry Hunter, Norty Cotto, Gomi, Joey Negro, Terry Pardini & Invisible Man (Alex Pardini), George Mena & Franke Estevez and others.
During an early run in his music career, Lee opened for Bette Midler (Barry Manilow, MD), drummer Billy Cobham; R&B and jazz artists Jean Carne, LaVern Baker, Dakota Staton and disco greats Tavares. He landed a role in Somerset, a television soap opera series that propelled him to broadway where he landed roles in "The Me Nobody Knows", "Inner City Blues", "Mary Jane" and "Godspell". He recorded lead vocals and performed with NYC's first roller disco group called "CITI" for DeLite Records/Polygram and headlined shows with Kool and the Gang, Grace Jones, Crown Heigths Affair and others.
He also recorded lead vocals and performed with the disco group "Scandal" for Sam Records.
After serving many years as Musical Director for Christ United Community Church, Rev. Ike, minister, now, in 2007 Lee Genesis is finally releasing his second CD entitled THE HOUSE of LEE GENESIS "Love Revolution", (in partnership with Al Hemberger, Matt Noble and The Loft Recording Studios). The CD is a showcase of the soulful varieties of house music this artist has long been holding in his heart for much too long. All of the cuts are straight out of his "house" years experiences. The trobbing beats together with Genesis' soulful gospel/R&B sound are infectious.
Lee for me, in my journey through house music since '88 has been a artist/producer who is underated!
He brought that vital heart and soul to the sence that so many people missed! For me 91-95 was really deep club music. Lee was right in there, and can't seperate me is one of my all time favoriate garge tunes. Thank you Lee.
