Influences
From my perspective,King Crimson,Yes,(seventies), Can,Soft machine, The Dillinger escape plan, Sikth, Ephel Duath, Nora, Steely Dan,Joni Mitchell, Frank Zappa,John Mclaughlin,Paco de Lucia, Anouar Brahem and Ravi Shankar
Lee Gerrard is a guitarist who played originally in "Mushrooms on Acid", years later with "Bluebeard" and with various jamming personnel over the years. Presently I am struggling to create a vibrant, dynamic and chaotic "heavy"/Eastern groove solo album.
Other musical activities recently have been a duet with Steve Wood.
"Bluebeard" was a band made up of myself on Guitar,Shane Crabb ..boards,Chris Hobby on the Drums and Dan Crone on additional guitar.
Recently,I began to play electronic midi drum pads for eclectic improvising trio "Barking Spider". "Barking Spider" produced approximately seven albums in one year displaying an astonishing and undaunted ability to improvise for up to an hour taking in a dizzying array of landscapes whilst in transit.Diverse influences from the bandmembers included Bob Dylan,Led Zeppelin, and the White Stripes from James Wood III,everything Jazz and cultured from Simon Hartung, and King crimson,Yes,Sikth,Dillinger,Can and Ravi Shankar from Lee Gerrard.Just like the classic bands of the seventies, these young men were confident of the fact that wherever they were going felt right, and that the audiences appreciation or participation was not really all that important. Being in the zone was everything, and god willing, some time in the future, we will create again. Please see the Barking Spider site below to listen to some of our tracks!
"Dalliance" is the collective title to various occassional projects which may occur. The first involved Dan Bendell with two thirds of Barking Spider,Myself, and Simon Hartung. This ended up having elements of Spanish, Romanian 'fiddler on the roof' style, jazz and improvised. In the future I hope to get hold of a drummer to improvise with.Anyone interested in anything from fuzz-bass on the one hand to eastern jazz-ambient on the other and live in and around the Bridport area please feel free to send me a message.Enthusiasm is the only requirement.Though, perhaps some ability may be handy....and just a little bullshit devil may care attitude.

Hello Lee! Thank you very much for your nice message :) Man I had a listen to the "Spoof" :) And I have really enjoyed it! I really like how you have mixed all together! Different licks sound really great! I can hear many random styles and I really dig the notes and the sound! Best from Croatia Jurica
Hello uncle Lee!!! Sofia and I would like to thank you for your beautiful song!!! It is really sweet! And we would like to apologise for not writing before but we've been quite taken with the new arrival in this world (you know how these things go!)... Hope you're well and to see you soon! Silvie & Sofia
Hello Lee!! Lazy-bastard-James today went back to work so I had time to relax and enjoy my day, at least as much as my huge size allows me to!! Aparently our little "heir to the throne" will honour us with his/her presence sooner than expected (that's what the doctor said at least), but Woody is not patient enough, so he's trying to get me to do backing vocals in his 300th album...see what a woman in my conditions has to put up with!! Take care Silvie xx PS: I like your music, it's good stuff...but slow down with the cider eh!!
Where's the new music with Steve Wood? "Soon" you say? It's always "soon" with you isn't it Mr. Gerrard? Haven't you some responsibility to your devoted public? You can't leave us hanging like this!
