Lee's Story (So Far)
I was born at a young age in the early *****ties in a shire long since swallowed by the monster that is known as progress. I was a perfect child as my Mother would testify, bringing endless joy to the world, leaving me very little to tell until the age of around 20.
Having made the mistake of becoming an RAF Policeman, I found myself on the island of Benbecula, a wonderful place which had bugger all in it except Bars where the locals could drink themselves silly, as I was exceedingly bored I decided to learn the guitar, because I had tried it when I was younger but gave up too quickly.
Eventually sanity overwhelmed me and I parted company from Her Majesty and her Air Force, I then became a professional musician… in as much as I signed on. I carried on learning and then came the Doomweasel experience…
Doomweasel were comedy rock, don’t ask me why, they just were. I was inexperienced enough to be talked into joining and bugger me if it didn’t work! The songs were funny and cool, I wish I could remember them (Tapes were made I’m sure, contact me if you have a copy), the band often had more members than the audience, I never got paid. To be fair I did get fed and indeed shagged silly (Thanks for that!) by several different girls so all in all Doomweasel truly rocked.
The Floating Greyhounds were the other main passion of mine for a while. We kicked ass, we did the Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, balls to the wall rock thingy, and it was good. We packed out the Brickies all the time and made some good cash. I then followed Jurumpsteak off to do a Duo (Double Trouble) which was cool, then I stopped and got on with the Marriage (One word sentence) and kids merry-go-round.
I have been lucky enough to play with some famous peeps too, like Paul Di'anno, Ian Hunter, Bernie Marsden and Wilco Johnson. Hopefully I can get to meet some more, Vai or Petrucci would do. :)
